UTERINE SYNECHIA

Uterine synechiae are scars (adherence) between the surface of the uterine walls, which may occur after the surgical procedure, uterine curettage, or after an inflammatory process in the uterine cavity (endometritis), which may lead to menstrual changes, infertility and obstetric complication such as abortion and premature birth.
Hysteroscopic classification (Hamou)
Mucosal synechia: Adherence or loose mucosal bridges which are unattached by the passage of hysteroscope.
Fibrous synechia: translucent, non-vascular, not covered by endometrium, non-bleeding.
Muscle synechia: covered by endometrium, and when its lysis occurs, its muscle portion is viewed, bleeding may occur.
Fibrous synechiae, forming trabeculae by dividing the endocervical light.
