NORMAL UTERINE CAVITY

Menacme

The distended uterine cavity has a shape of an inverted cone. On the extreme borders, the cornual regions are excavated and mouthed in a divergent slanting course to the tubal ostiums. The normal uterine walls are homogeneously and symmetrically distended.
The normal endometrium covers the whole surfaceof the uterine cavity, from the internal orifice of cervical canal to the tubal ostiums.
There will be physiological changes in its coloration, thickness, aspect, and superficial vascularization, according to the menstrual cycle phase.
Postmenopause: Atrophic uterus
On cervical canal: the microvesicles and the longitudinal creases disappear, making the walls smooth, and not presenting the individualization of the cervical segments.
